OAS SCHOLARSHIP on Management Subjects

  • Provide an unconditional admission letter to the program.

  • Submit a complete scholarship application with all supporting documents.

  • Be a citizen and/or permanent legal resident of any OAS member state, except the United States.

  • Have not received other scholarship from the OAS or from the eCornell for the same level of studies and/or programs of study as advertised in this announcement.

  • Not be an OAS staff or individual who maintains employment contracts with the OAS or a staff of a Permanent Mission to the OAS or immediate relatives of a staff of a Permanent Mission to the OAS.


TheOrganization of American States (OAS) and the eCornell are offering scholarships awarding its recipients 66.7% of the tuition fees

Through the OAS Partnerships Program for Education and Training (PAEC), both OAS  and eCornell are offering scholarships to qualified candidates of the Americas to participate in the following certificate online programs below:

  • Change Leadership
  • Managing for Execution
  • Financial Management
  • Executive Leadership for Healthcare Professionals
  • Measuring and Improving Business Performance
  • Hospitality Management: Financial Management
  • Advanced Certificate in Strategic HR Management
  • Marketing Strategy


The courses will start in August 2016 and end in November 2016


Application for Admission Information

Candidates must first apply for the OAS-eCornell Scholarship. The selected candidates will then be informed to register for the selected certificate Program on eCornell’s website.

Scholarship Application Process

To apply for this scholarship opportunity, you must submit a Scholarship application through the OAS Fellowship Management System.
You will be required to upload the following documents where indicated in the application form:

  1. One (1) Recommendation Letter.
  2. Copy of Undergraduate’s Degree Transcript.
  3. Curriculum Vitae or Resume.
  4. Proof of Additional Funds.
  5. Proof of English Proficiency, if applicable
  6. Copy of a Government Issued ID.

Please note the following:

  1. Students whose native language is not English will be required to submit one of the following as proof of English proficiency:
    1. An official transcript verifying completion of studies in an English speaking university in the last five years;
    2. A test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 570 or higher for the paper based test, 230 for computer-based test, or an internet-based TOEFL (IBT) score of at least 89; OR
    3. Other standard English proficiency certificates
  2. Proof that you have sufficient funds (estimated at USD $1,200) to cover remaining tuition and fees and other costs not covered by the scholarship by including one, or a combination, of the following documents with your scholarship application:
    1. a copy of a rental agreement on property showing you as the property owner; 
    2. a copy of a bank statement or bank letter; 
    3. a letter from an employer showing a monthly or yearly salary; 
    4. a letter showing a student loan or additional scholarship(s), grants, financial aid.
  3. One letter of recommendation: one letter from a university professor or one from a current or most recent employer that includes: the letterhead of the University/Institution, the Professor’s/Employer’s position within the University/Institution, date and signature.
  4. You are required to write and include two essays in the scholarship application form. The essays should be written in English. Each essay should have a minimum of 800 characters (not words) and a maximum of 2900 characters, including spaces.


Scholarship Selection Criteria

  1. The merits and overall credentials of the candidate, including his/her academic and professional background; 
  2. Geographical distribution of the applicants, taking into account the greater needs of the smaller and relatively less developed economies; 
  3. Applicants whose proposals portray the highest potential for impact upon return to their countries of origin; and
  4. Gender diversity.


Duties and Responsibilities of the Student

  1. The scholarship will be formally awarded only after the selected awardees have signed an eCornell Acceptance Form, in which the awardees formally accept the scholarship and agree to its terms and conditions. 
  2. Refrain from activities that are inconsistent with the status of an OAS Scholarship recipient, abiding by the regulations referred to in this Acceptance Form.
  3. Comply with all the academic guidelines and admission requirements requested by eCornell and submit to the updates of these guidelines and requirements made by the academic authorities at eCornell. 
  4. Comply with the provisions indicated in the "Financial responsibilities of awardees.” 
  5. To retain the scholarship, awardees should not have low academic performance (GPA must be at least equivalent to 3.0/4.0), due to absence from the program and/or course failure. 
  6. The scholarship can be declined by the awardee before the start date of the program without financial penalties. However, if s/he declines the scholarship after that date without proof of force majeure, the OAS and eCornell may require the awardee to reimburse all funding granted to her/him with the scholarship at the time in which the declination is processed. 
  7. Commitment to return to work in their country of origin or legal residence in one of the OAS member states, or at an international organization, for at least the length of the duration of the scholarship. Failure to comply with this commitment, the GS/OAS and/or the eCornell could seek reimbursement for the total value of the scholarship awarded.
