The Khwarizmi International Award seeks to recognize the efforts made by researchers, innovators and inventors from all over the world and to appreciate their invaluable achievements and contributions to various fields of science and technology. The application deadline is November 30, 2016.
Winners will receive:
- 1st place: $10,000 USD.
- 2nd place: $8,000 USD.
- 3rd place: $5,000 USD.
- A certificate signed by the President of Islamic Iran.
- A ceremony where travel expenses, boarding and lodging expenses of the KIA Laureates are covered by the KIA.

Applying for the Khwarizmi International Award implies the acceptance and readiness to participate in the award ceremony.
The award ceremony of the Khwarizmi International Award is the most spectacular ceremony in the I. Rep. of Iran and is regarded as the premier event for acknowledging commitment to Science and Technology.
The award ceremony of the Khwarizmi International Award is currently scheduled to take place in Tehran, during the last week of February of each year.
Candidates are kindly invited to consult the site at that time of the year.
International travel expenses, boarding and lodging expenses of the KIA Laureates are covered by the KIA.
The Khwarizmi International Award is personally presented to the KIA Laureates by his Excellency, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The KIA Award Ceremony is also attended by the Ambassadors of the KIA Laureates’ country, eminent scientists, political and scientific personalities, international organization representatives, etc.
IROST proposed the creation of the Khwarizmi Award in memory of Abu Jafar Mohammad Ibn Mousa Khwarizmi, the great Iranian Mathematician and Astronomer(770-840 C.E).
